Bankstown Sports Club are proud to have been recognised for their support in the local community at the recent 2025 ClubsNSW Clubs and Community Awards Event, held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney.

The annual event recognises the positive impact of clubs within their local communities across the state in nine categories including mental health, social inclusion, healthcare, support for grassroots sport, education, environmental sustainability, arts, culture and entertainment.

This year, Bankstown Sports Club were announced as winners in the Health Care category, through their partnership with Eat Up Australia. Eat Up is Australia’s only organisation providing free lunches to school students on a national scale. The organisation has provided over 4 million lunches to Aussie kids who turn up to school without lunch. Eat Up makes and delivers over 30,000 lunches directly to schools for vulnerable children.

This year, Bankstown Sports Club has provided over $16,000 to Eat Up Australia through the ClubGRANTS program, to provide local schools with lunches. In addition to this, over 30 Bankstown Sports Club staff members have volunteered their time to make over 2000 sandwiches for the cause. To cap it off, through the support of its members and guests, an additional donation was made through a portion of total sandwich sales in the club over the month of November, in alignment with National Sandwich Day.

The evening was made more special with the attendance of Eat Up Australia’s founder, Lyndon Galea, and NSW Partnerships Manager, Amanda Hoyle, who shared the stage for the award acceptance alongside Bankstown Sports Club staff members on the night.

It is a privilege for Bankstown Sports Club to work alongside organisations such as Eat Up Australia, in order to make a positive difference within the community.
